Artist FeaturesWe're very happy to add Jitumoni Goswami to the Yeon roster!
Jitumoni is an Indian illustrator based in the United States. She holds a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Visva Bharati University. Jitumoni is a freelance book illustrator as well as an art teacher, teaching children at schools, after-school art centers, and summer camps. Her work is deeply influenced by her experience as both a teacher and a mother of two wonderful young girls. Jitumoni’s artistic style blends traditional and digital techniques, with a focus on joyful, whimsical scenes that celebrate curious children, human connections, and the beauty of nature.
She has exhibited her work in various shows in India and received merit scholarships throughout her college education. She draws inspiration from the works of Beatrix Potter and Barbara Cooney and has a profound love for nature, which is often reflected in her art.
Outside of her illustration work, Jitumoni enjoys hiking, gardening, embroidering, weaving, writing, and listening to soft instrumental music. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Recently, she has embarked on writing her own stories. She is also learning Indian classical music.
