Meet Shutong Liu, a Chinese illustrator, now living in Los Angeles!

Originally from Baoding, China, Shutong Liu has always had a passion for art. After studying civil engineering during her undergraduate years, she decided to follow her artistic calling and pursued a Master's degree in visualization at Texas A&M University.

As a look development artist, she adds textures to 3D models, ranging from metallic surfaces to realistic skin textures, to enhance their tangibility. Shutong’s passion for textures heavily influences her 2D illustrations, and she draws inspiration from real life. Her illustrations are a beautiful fusion of her passion for textures and her artistic talent. In addition to her work in the animation industry, Shutong has gained valuable experience as a concept artist at an educational gaming studio, and collaborated with various other clients to bring their unique visions to life. Her diverse resume showcases her versatility and adaptability as an artist.
